The Mississippi Blues Foundation is undertaking an exciting new project. The legislature has approved a Mississippi Blues Trail “Specialty” Car Tag. The Mississippi Blues Trail Program is responsible for erecting the historical markers across our great State that honors our blues music heritage.
We have until October 15th to obtain at least 200 commitments for this tag to become available in January 2009. The next deadline is May 15, 2009 with the car tag being available July 2009.
The Mississippi Blues Foundation is now taking applications for this special Blues Trail car tag that directly supports the Mississippi Blues Trail and the heritage tourism it promotes.
Please join us in this worthwhile endeavor to celebrate our blues heritage. You can help make this project happen by completing the attached form and mailing it in with a check for $31. Your support will be invaluable in preserving and promoting this indigenous Mississippi cultural art form that has influenced music worldwide in every genre.
Many of you already have a specialty car tag. If so, please consider a monetary donation to the Mississippi Blues Foundation. Simply make your check payable to the Mississippi Blues Foundation. All donations will help further the Mississippi Blues Trail Program so that this music and the stories it tells live for generations to come.
